The Global Ministry for Children with Autism was established by Dr. Pyeon, his wife, Dr. Lee, and their friend and sponsor, Peace Kim in honor of Daniel Changjo Pyeon who was diagnosed with autism at the age of two. Dr. Pyeon and Dr. Lee have taken a rather rough road since their son Daniel was born. Through the years, Daniel has been in need of medical support, spiritual prayer and financial aid. All through the struggle of limited resources, and financial difficulties, the Pyeon's have been faced with a difficult task of caring for their son, with prayer and never ceasing thanksgiving.
The summer of 2005 was a turning point to Pyeon's family. While their struggles continued, The Pyeons bore the courage to turn their struggles around and use prayer as an opportunity and privilege to bless others who may go through similar difficulties. During that prayerful time, Pyeon's family came to know Peace Kim, a woman of faith and integrity with an incredible compassionate heart. Through the times, Peace Kim has been a source of energy to the Pyeon's family. Peace Kim was willing to help and support a idea for launching a foundation for children with autism.
Upon a relay of prayerful time, they launched the foundation called "Global Ministry for Children with Autism" with a belief that "A tested stone can become a foundational stone." At the end of year 2005, the Global Ministry for Children with Autism was born. Beginning from January 4, 2006, GMCA attained IRS-approved 501(c)(3) status. Therefore, contribution to GMCA is tax deductible under section 170 of the Code.
